Stretcher Bearer. WW II scarce enamelled lapel badge for Voluntary Stretcher Bearers. Issued in 1940 under the Emergency Hospital Scheme,to meet the need for greater numbers of men to load and unload stretchers from ambulances,as most of the drivers were women.[slight loss of plating to the "SB"]
